Supporting MRCLC
Supporting MRCLC
We seek to provide a holistic legal service for the benefit of disadvantaged and marginalised people, in order to create a more just society. We welcome your support!
DONATIONS
As we do not receive payment from clients for our services, donations are gratefully accepted.
If you would like to donate you can either give regularly by direct debit (e.g. fortnightly or monthly), you can consider leaving a bequest in your Will or make a single donation by cheque, cash or money order or call (07) 4953 1211. You can also make a donation directly by clicking on the orange tab with the $ sign on the right hand side.
The MRCLC's member number for the Containers for Change program is C11211868. If you forget the number or want to double check, you can search for "Mackay" on Containers for Change website here.
VOLUNTEERS
The MRCLC would not be able to provide the service it does without the many volunteers who have generously given their time. We are very thankful for the great work of our volunteers.
If you would like to volunteer as a solicitor, barrister, social worker, migration agent or co-ordinator for our Legal Advice Evenings, or in any other capacity, please contact us on (07) 4953 1211. We also have positions available for law students as well as law graduates wanting to undertake work experience as part of their Practical Legal Training course.
We are particularly looking for solicitors to assist at our Legal Advice Evening sessions once every 2 months on a Tuesday or Wednesday between 5:35pm – 8:00pm.
The Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority has appointed MRCLC an authorised pro bono organisation. Migration agents are therefore able to achieve some CPD by providing voluntary migration assistance at the MRCLC.
HOW TO BECOME A FINANCIAL MEMBER OF THE MRCLC
You will need to complete an application form which is available from reception, pay the membership fee ($5.00 for an individual and $10.00 for an organisation) and be accepted as a member by the management committee.
MAKING A BEQUEST TO MRCLC
A bequest is a gift or donation of any size that is left in your will. You can make a bequest to the Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre Inc. (MRCLC) by using the bequest clauses below. MRCLC cannot provide you with specific legal advice in relation to a bequest, so please consult with your financial advisor and solicitor to ensure your Will is valid and your wishes expressed correctly.
This clause gives an unrestricted gift to MRCLC to use for its general purposes:
I give (my whole estate) or (specific percentage of my estate) or (specific assets) or (the residue of my estate) or (the sum of $...) to Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre Inc. ABN 70 166 231 202 for its general purposes. In relation to that gift, I declare that a general charitable intent applies. A receipt signed by a person authorised by the Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre Inc. shall constitute a full and sufficient discharge to my trustees and my trustees are not obliged to see or enquire into the application of the subject matter of the gift made by me.
Thank you!
The MRCLC understands that leaving a gift in your Will can be a significant decision and we are extremely grateful to you for considering supporting the MRCLC in this way.
If you would like to let us know you have left a gift for the MRCLC in your Will please contact us. The information collected regarding your future gift to the MRCLC will not be shared or disclosed to any third party and kept strictly confidential. Please click here for our privacy statement.
Some people may prefer to remain anonymous, and we respect this decision.
